The Government has introduced ‘WorkSafe NZ’ together with new legislation. It’s the most significant reform of New Zealand’s workplace Health and Safety laws in 20 years.
This new legislation will affect the way all New Zealand organisations operate with regard to workplace health, safety and environmental management.
In short, these new rules make an organisation responsible for the safety of all people entering their premises, including their own staff, their customers, and regular contractors like CrestClean.

CrestClean is launching SafeClean, a Health, Safety and Environmental Management system designed to minimise the risks of our work at our customers’ premises.
We will supply a Site Reference Folder, which lists the risk hazards and controls of our cleaning duties, and a new Health and Safety booklet, which includes material safety data sheets of chemicals used, and any site-specific hazards and controls.
We need to ensure all personnel are properly inducted on to each customer site.
We are also going to provide specific Health and Safety training and upskilling as part of SafeClean. This will most likely be via an online tutorial, which all personnel will complete annually. In some customer sites pour personnel will receive site-specific training.

We will keep you personally informed as the system rolls out. You will start to see the materials and in many cases your Regional Manager will consult with you about introducing the new materials to your customers.
