She may have only been with CrestClean for 18 months, but Timaru franchisee Maritess Felizardo has already built up an impressive track record with her customers.
Since November last year, she has been awarded seven Certificates of Excellence, for the outstanding service she has provided to her customers.
CrestClean awards Certificates of Excellence to franchisees who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Customer feedback, quality inspections and compliance with CrestClean’s cleaning standards are all taken into consideration.
Maritess says she was surprised to receive the certificates — four in November, and a further three in March.
“I’m grateful and happy, and proud of what I am doing and that I’m doing well,” she says.
“All my customers are really, really good. They have been very generous with their feedback.”
Previously, Maritess worked as a cleaner at a high school, but joined CrestClean after a recommendation from a franchisee she met through the local Filipino community.
“He asked me if I wanted to buy a franchise because they were looking for some more franchisees. At first I was hesitant, but then I thought, why not try it?”
More flexibility, a higher income and being her own boss were attractive propositions, and she has not been disappointed.
In her first 18 months of owning her own business, Maritess has almost doubled the size of her business — she started with one customer site and now she has 10.
Now she and her husband Val, who has a fulltime job elsewhere but sometimes helps with the cleaning work, are excited to be saving towards owning their own home.
“It helps a lot with our savings. We are very happy.”
The Certificates of Excellence, she says, are an added bonus.
“It definitely boosts your work ethic. Knowing that you’re appreciated, you want to do an even better job.”
