Malcolm Brown and Alex Lopaz are not only Crest’s rising stars in Tauranga they are polished performers in every way.
Jan Lichtwark says the hardworking franchisees rightly deserve top honours and have excelled by having a great attitude to work and going the extra mile for their customers.
For Jan, Crest’s Tauranga Regional Manager, it is the first time two franchisees have shared the title of New Franchisee of the Year.
“They are outstanding franchisees so I decided they both deserved the title!
“They really looked out for their customers and both work really hard and are always cheerful,” Jan added.
“And during training they devoted their time to making sure they learned everything they could. After completing the training they went out and helped on other jobs to learn more.
“They have a great attitude and have invested their own time and are always willing to help out.”
Jan said 2016 had been a memorable year and 2017 was shaping up to be another great year for Crest in Tauranga. He has seen a doubling in franchisee numbers over the past 12 months as the company goes from strength to strength.
This year is a milestone year for CrestClean as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Business is booming and Crest is seeing a growing demand in the commercial cleaning sector throughout New Zealand.
“It’s been a great year, not just for business but in terms of training and upskilling our people’s skills,” said Jan.
“The growth in Tauranga is also very much due to the great work of the franchisees in maintaining our very high standards of commercial cleaning.
“This year is looking very good and there is plenty of new work and we need more franchisees, so there are some great opportunities.”
Jan said he’s been impressed by the new Crest franchisees.
“We have had a really high calibre of people joining us. When I carry out interviews you can tell the people who really want to own their own business and achieve personal success.
“They will often have day jobs but are looking for a change that will give them a better lifestyle and secure future with good opportunities.”
And Jan said it was easy to spot those people who were serious about wanting to own their own business.
“They come to the interview in nice clothes, and dress appropriately for a business meeting and they really make an effort from day one.
“They’ve done their homework and have really thought about what is involved and will ask in-depth questions. They take a very professional approach.”
Jan recently had the honour of presenting new franchisees with their Certificate in Commercial Cleaning Level 1. The newcomers had attended comprehensive training run by the Master Cleaners Training Institute.
“It’s a real pleasure to see how our franchisees value the certificates that mark their training achievements. You can see how proud they are. Training is popular as they get a lot out of it.”
Also singled out for praise were Mark and Nancy Lee, who are originally from Korea and have been with Crest for three years. They were awarded the title of Tauranga Franchisee of the Year.
“Mark and Nancy Lee are always willing to go the extra mile when I need help,” said Jan.
“They are great at communicating to their customers. Their gear is always very clean and tidy and they excelled when it came to vehicle audits.
“They enjoy running their business and they have introduced several new people who have gone on to buy a franchise.
Jan also presented franchisee Mukesh Kumar with his 3-year Certificate of Long Service.
“He’s very conscientious and is ambitious and wants to grow his business. He’s is just the sort of person we need,” said Jan.
