When Cherry Ninon was in her twenties, she aspired to own her own business — a decade later she has realised that dream with a CrestClean franchise.
“I’m earning a whole lot more than I was in my previous job — three times more. In the first year I have doubled the size of my business, with the opportunity to grow it even more,” says Cherry.
“I have upgraded my car, and I have two employees now. It’s really good, and I’m very happy.”
Having established the business, Cherry now has more free time to spend with her daughter Isabella, who sees her mum as a great role model.
“I clean at Isabella’s school and she has seen what I do and the relationship that I have with the teachers and the principal. I think it has given her more understanding and respect for the people looking after the school.”
Cherry originally purchased a CrestClean franchise to supplement her income from her fulltime job as a general manager for an Eftpos company.
Having used up all her savings during the 2020 nationwide lockdown, when her hours dropped by almost 40%, she started looking for something that would give her and Isabella a more secure financial future.
“I really wanted to buy a house in the future, but prices kept rising and I needed to find a way to save money.”
As the size of her business grew, Cherry was able to give up her ‘day job’ to concentrate on her cleaning business fulltime. Now she plans to grow it further.
“I want to increase the size of the business and employ more people. It means I get to help others by providing employment opportunities.”
With her home ownership dream edging closer to becoming a reality, Cherry has no regrets.
“I am a businesswoman, running my own business and managing people. And cleaning is a very stable industry to be in at the moment. I would definitely recommend it.”
