A pilot programme delivered by one of New Zealand’s top carpet care experts has proved so popular that it’s now being rolled out to CrestClean regions throughout the country.
Adam Hodge, CEO of Master Cleaners Training Institute, says he’s had nothing but great feedback from the franchisees who attended the initial courses.
“These trial events have proved so successful that we want to extend the opportunity to our other business owners in all our regions.
“The course will bring everybody up to date with the latest techniques in carpet care.”
The programme has been delivered by Charlie Lodge, a master technician and a certified Instructor for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification.
“Charlie is well respected in the industry and having him on board has allowed us to go a step further and upskill all of our carpet cleaners in the latest systems, processes and technology,” says Adam.
A one-day refresher course will be offered to existing carpet care specialists and a two-day workshop is aimed at franchisees looking to add carpet care to their skill set.
Participants are taken through the procedures they require to clean a wide of range of carpet types and floor coverings. Health and safety, different cleaning techniques and stain removal, are among the topics covered.
How to correctly identify different fibres in carpets is also on the programme so people know what to look out for and to avoid any problems when removing stains from carpets and upholstery.
Adam stressed the importance of upskilling so customers could be assured of getting the best possible service.
“Carpet cleaning changes constantly because the materials are always changing. The course gives recognition to new materials and techniques and the latest and best methods on cleaning.”
Feedback from the initial carpet care courses included CrestClean franchisee Anmol Prasad, from Auckland East, who said it had been time well spent.
“The course gave me an opportunity to meet the industry expert and refresh my knowledge so that I can deliver the best service to my customers.”
Frania Shah, from Dunedin, had been impressed by the course content. “I have a better knowledge of different types of carpets. I am confident enough to tackle all types of stains,” he says.
