After seven successful years owning a CrestClean business Bura Takinoa has never been happier in his work.
“I’d be happy to spend my whole life cleaning and retire as a cleaner too,” he says. “It’s a good business to be in.”
Bura Takinoa and his wife Kamoroa, who are originally from the Pacific island nation of Kiribati, have taken on more contracts and over the past few years and have seen a fivefold increase in their turnover.
The Warkworth couple have worked hard to build up their cleaning business, which has enabled them to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.
“A year after joining CrestClean I managed to be able to get a mortgage and buy a house,” says Bura. “It has helped us a lot financially as we have children.”
A factor in the success of their business is that they are able to offer their customers a range of specialist services. As well as general cleaning, Bura has trained as a specialist in hard floor care and carpet cleaning.
“Cleaning is not that hard and with CrestClean I like the flexibility of the working hours and you can grow your business,” he says.
But he also like giving back. Helping newcomers to the industry is a role Bula enjoys. He is an Induction Trainer for CrestClean’s North Harbour team and takes new franchisees through the basics of cleaning.
Induction training is an important part of the CrestClean franchisee training process. “It’s rewarding to pass on my experience to others,” he says.
“I want them to be successful as well. It gives me a lot of personal satisfaction to see people I’ve trained doing well with CrestClean.”
Neil Kumar, CrestClean’s North Harbour Regional Manager, says Bura and Kamoroa have an excellent reputation for the high standard of their work.
“I am extremely pleased with their performance and nothing is ever too much trouble.”
