When Orland and Desiree Cudal needed help, three Invercargill franchisees and Regional Manager Glenn Cockroft came to their rescue.
Orland, who works on a dairy farm during the day and helps wife, Desiree, clean clients premises at night, was run over by a tractor and trailer in June. As a result of the accident, Orland received serious injuries to his legs.
On the day of the accident, Orland’s wife Desiree, who was by his side in hospital and panicking about who was going to clean the school and childcare centre in Winton that night, called Invercargill Regional Manager Glenn Cockroft and let him know what had happened.
Glenn sent a text message to all franchisees and asked if there was anyone available to help him complete the task. Marciel and Martin De Guzman and Julie Cameron responded to the text message, dropped everything and headed out to Winton with Glenn.
“This created a long night for them as they still had their own contracts to complete as well. We had to make sure the school and childcare centre were cleaned so the children could attend the next day,” he says. “It is another indication of what a great team we have here in the south. We look at each other as family and work very well together.”
Their efforts did not go unnoticed. Crest Managing Director Grant McLauchlan presented Marciel, Martin and Julie with a Certificate of Appreciation at the Invercargill team meeting on August 19.
