Nelson is home to many great CrestClean franchisees, and David Reddecliffe is happy to be a part of it. Originally from Ashburton, he moved to Christchurch after getting married at 24. David, his wife, and two children are now happily settled in Hope, just south of Nelson.
David joined CrestClean at the end of January 2013 after deciding that he wanted a more stable career and more bang for his buck. Before joining CrestClean, David had spent most of his working life in offices and playing music for a living, even working as a fulltime musician for a few years.
He says, “I was looking for a more stable working environment where I didn’t need to worry about redundancy. I also wanted a salary to match the hours I was putting in.”
Previously finding it difficult to get work that didn’t involve continuous weekend work, CrestClean is a much better fit with his lifestyle, and allows him that precious spare time to spend with his family. “I like to spend my weekend time with my family boating, blokarting, swimming, and having fun. I usually take my kids to and from school, sports, and swimming lessons so the flexible night-time hours are great for me.”
David has a keen eye for business and excellent customer focus. “I call in on my customers to check on them and they are happy with my work,” he says.
So what does the future hold for David? “I now have a couple of staff helping out, so I would like to get more customers and expand the business,” he says.
