We’re proud to share that CrestClean has achieved a 5-star rating in the IMPAC PREQUAL health and safety prequalification assessment – the highest rating available.
The assessment was worked on by General Manager of Training, Safety and Wellbeing Liezl Foxcroft and Training and Health and Safety Co-ordinator Jacqui Buchanan, who spent months preparing the evidence and reviewing CrestClean’s systems ahead of the assessment.
The assessment is completed every two years and involves more than 50 detailed questions, with each requiring supporting evidence. It examines how effectively a business manages health and safety, including whether its systems are documented, implemented and actively used throughout the organisation.
Preparing for the assessment began months in advance, with Liezl and Jacqui carefully gathering and reviewing evidence. Many of the questions are multi-faceted, requiring several different types of evidence rather than a single example, and all evidence must be current.
“We spent many nights comparing our answers to the rubric to ensure we had enough information and that it aligned with the question,” says Liezl.
The process also provided a valuable opportunity to take a closer look at the work that happens behind the scenes to support health and safety across CrestClean.
“We definitely learnt a lot from the exercise, and it made us realise just how much work we do behind the scenes, as there were no questions we could not answer,” says Liezl.
The 5-star result reflects the strong health and safety culture that has been built across CrestClean and the commitment of our teams to keeping our people and customers safe.

IMPAC’s star rating is recognised throughout New Zealand and helps customers assess whether contractors have appropriate health and safety practices in place. Achieving the highest possible rating confirms that CrestClean’s systems have been independently assessed and are embedded into our everyday operations.
