After 15 successful years with CrestClean, Vince Fisk is not thinking of quitting anytime soon.
In fact the Dunedin business owner still enjoys the job and the freedom that comes with being his own boss. “It feels great working for myself and not for someone else,” he says.
Vince cleans and manages the business almost exclusively but it was his wife Leanne who was originally the one with the cleaning expertise.
Before they joined CrestClean, Leanne was cleaning for the University of Otago while Vince was doing car detailing and feeling more than ready for a career change.
Eager to do something different, he chanced across the opportunity to purchase a CrestClean franchise.
In more recent years, Leanne has been concentrating on her own career. She now works during the day as a manager at Bay Audiology and Vince cleans at night.
It’s worked out really well for the couple and Vince enjoys time off during the day. “I get time to do some home maintenance or I can read or go out to visit the art gallery,” he says.
Vince enjoys the close working relationships he has with his customers. Testament to the quality of his work and commitment to the job, many customers have been with him for many years.
He’s held in high regard by a local print company he looks after. “I’ve been there for just over 10 years. I’m just part of the furniture there now and I always get good feedback,” he says.
As for the future, Vince is eyeing the next major milestone with his CrestClean business. “We’ll see how we’re looking at the 20 year mark!” he says with a smile.
Nicky Kramers, Regional Manager CrestClean Dunedin, says Vince and Leanne have been outstanding business owners.
“Vince is a key member of our CrestClean Dunedin family. He is highly-valued by our teams and our customers.”
“He’s a quiet achiever and nothing is ever a bother. His smile is infectious!”
