When the inaugural George Begg Festival was held in Invercargill recently, four CrestClean franchisees got to go along for the ride.
The festival celebrated Southland motorsport legend George Begg, whose 1960s and 1970s race cars are famous for taking on some of the biggest names in the world.
The retro event included three days of racing at Teretonga Park, the world’s southernmost FIA approved motor racing circuit, where CrestClean was enlisted to help keep the facilities clean.
With hundreds of attendees, franchisees Marlene Madrid, Janeth Luna, Van Nguyen and Carlota Magannig were kept busy, while soaking up the atmosphere.
“The team onsite certainly enjoyed the opportunity of being part of the festival and having the opportunity to check out a number of the displays and race cars that were there on the day,” says Invercargill Regional Manager Glenn Cockroft.
It’s the first time the event has been held, with Kiwi motorsport greats, past and present, such as Greg Murphy, Paul Radisich, David Oxton, Jim Murdoch, Barry Keen and more providing plenty of action on the track. Meanwhile, the off-track offering included live entertainment, a food and beverage alley, Kids Zone, retailers, and even a vintage beauty parlour.
