Sandeep Kumar and Anju Anju are scaling new heights — both in business and recreation.
Since becoming CrestClean franchisees two years ago they have more than doubled the size of their business, while also finding plenty of time to enjoy their shared hobby of hiking.
“We have heaps of free time together. I really like hiking in the mountains and Anju likes to come with me on the easier hikes,” says Sandeep.
Some of Sandeep’s solo exploits include Mueller Hut, which is 1,805 meters above sea level in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, and Mount Peel and Mount Somers in Canterbury.
Together, Sandeep and Anju’s adventures include traversing Roy’s Peak in Wanaka, completing a portion of the Abel Tasman Great Walk and encountering sea lions in Kaikoura, to name a few.
Sandeep says he loves hiking as it benefits both body and mind.
“Obviously there are health benefits, and it also helps with meditation and attaining my highest goal of spirituality.
“I like to get close to nature. Difficult hikes are a challenge and it gives me confidence and a sense of victory when I reach the top of mountain. From there, when I look down, everything looks clear and vast. Any problems seem very small in comparison to the vastness of nature.”
