Nelson Franchisee Happy Singh has found his environmentally-friendly vehicle is good for business.
His Toyota Prius has turned heads and is a conversation opener for people who have noticed how quiet the electric/petrol car is. It’s given Happy a chance to talk about CrestClean to passers-by who stop to chat to him and are curious about his CrestClean car.
“People say it’s a nice car and they are impressed that it’s so quiet. It gives me an opportunity to talk about CrestClean and they often go on to ask about cleaning and if our products are environmentally-friendly.”
And Happy is not alone in his choice of a hybrid vehicle – two other franchisees in New Zealand also drive Prius vehicles. It’s a smart move that fits CrestClean’s profile of being an environmentally responsible business.
Sam Lewis, CrestClean’s General Manager Franchise Services, said CrestClean is a company that prides itself on being environmentally friendly.
“Having more of our franchisees driving fuel-efficient vehicles is a natural fit.
“We try to localise our franchisees cleaning contracts so that driving times are reduced, which in turn decreases fuel consumption.”
He added: “Fuel is one of the largest expenses for our franchise operators so any investment to reduce these costs will ultimately improve our teams’ profitability.”
Happy has recently moved to Nelson and he reckons it’s a great city to grow his CrestClean business.
His choice of a full hybrid electric vehicle was a no-brainer as it fits in with his desire to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
“There’s opportunity to grow here. There is lots of work,” he said.
“The car is really great. It is really economical, and that’s good for business, and it’s a great car to drive and it’s easy to park.”
