When Dhinesh Kumar and Sandhaya Narayan left Fiji, they were looking for a better future and a chance to get ahead.
Today, they’re the proud owners of a brand-new three-bedroom home in Ōrewa – a milestone that once seemed a long way off.
The couple initially settled in Dargaville, where Dhinesh worked at the local Four Square. After almost two years, they started thinking about what they could do to improve their financial situation.
That’s when close friends introduced them to CrestClean and the stability that comes with owning a franchise.
Keen to find out more, Dhinesh and Sandhaya contacted North Harbour Regional Managers Neil and Rachel Kumar and began exploring the possibility of buying a franchise in Silverdale. Neil gave them the go-ahead and, in November 2024, they became business owners.
It was a big decision. They were leaving behind the life they had built in Dargaville, moving to a new town and entering an industry they knew nothing about.
Having Neil there to guide them through those early days made all the difference. He showed them the ropes, helped them settle into their new business and was always available when they needed advice.
“It was a tough decision for us to make, moving to a new place,” says Dhinesh.
“But Neil’s support was tremendous.”
Dhinesh and Sandhaya quickly threw themselves into their new business, building a reputation for providing a reliable, high-quality service. They also focused on saving a strong deposit, while the flexibility of being their own bosses made it easier to fit in mortgage appointments and visit open homes whenever they found a property they liked.
Then came the moment they had been working towards – picking up the keys to their very own brand-new home in Ōrewa.
“Buying a home is a big milestone. It gives us complete stability and a space that’s fully ours,” says Dhinesh.
“It’s the ultimate reward for hard work.”
The achievement marks a remarkable change in just under two years. The couple have moved towns, started a business from scratch and turned their dream of owning a home into reality.
“Taking a step into business ownership with CrestClean is the best decision we ever made.”
Now with plenty of experience under his belt, Dhinesh has some simple advice for new franchisees starting out. Stay consistent, make the most of the support available, and the business will grow.
“Trust the system and stay consistent. Utilise the tools CrestClean gives us and focus on delivering excellent service.”
