CrestClean business owner Praneel Prasad plans to celebrate his 10-year milestone with a family holiday to his homeland.
His long service was officially recognised when he received a commemorative plaque from the company’s managing director Grant McLauchlan during the recent CrestClean team meeting in Hamilton.
Praneel says he’ll spend the $2,500 bonus from the company to mark his 10 years’ service on a holiday to Fiji. It’ll be a welcome break for his wife Sangita, who also helps in the cleaning business, and their two young sons.
Since joining CrestClean in Hamilton and purchasing a small part-time business, Praneel has almost tripled his turnover.
Before CrestClean he worked for a company building camper vans. When the company shifted to Auckland he opted for redundancy, seizing the opportunity to turn his part-time cleaning franchise into a full-time business.
Since then Praneel has gone on several upskilling courses and is now a CrestClean hard floor trainer. He’s also added carpet cleaning to the services he can offer his customers.
“I’m proud to have been with CrestClean for 10 years,” he says. “It’s a great job plus I get plenty of time to myself. Before starting work I can drop my kids to school and I can take my wife to work.”
Nivitesh Kumar, CrestClean’s Waikato Regional Manager, says having someone of Praneel’s experience on his team is invaluable. “He’s a self-starter and he is doing a great job and the customers love him.”
For Praneel the job is not just about cleaning and he enjoys going the extra mile for his customers. Staff at Hamilton Christian School were singing his praises last year after he helped them plan a school trip to Fiji.
Although he couldn’t be in Fiji himself, Praneel arranged for the teachers and students to be met at the airport when they arrived. His sister-in-law was on hand to greet the young visitors and she took the group to her family home where they were given a warm welcome and treated to a lavish afternoon tea.
