After two years of working together, Indica Karaitiana and Jeewan Kumar recently said goodbye to one of their earliest and most valued customers, Ross King, Building Administrator at Hastings District Council.
With Ross set to retire soon and their professional paths parting ways, the Hawke’s Bay couple met up with him for a coffee and chat to reflect on their working relationship and wish him well.
“We had a really good chat about Ross’s retirement and our families,” says Indica and Jeewan.
“It was a really good catch up and a positive conversation where we let him know that if he ever needed us again in the future, we are always available.”
Ross had played a key role in the couple’s business journey. As the main point of contact at the council, he was the person Indica and Jeewan relied on for communication and feedback.
“Ross was the one we always communicated with. We’d talk to him about any concerns. He was the go-to person.”
When Indica and Jeewan were just starting out and finding their feet as new business owners, Ross was a huge support. To thank him for being there from the beginning, they gave him a gift to show their appreciation.
“Even if you’re finishing a contract with someone, it’s still important to make them feel special.”
Ross was just as appreciative, sharing kind words over coffee and letting the couple know how much he valued their outstanding service. It was a lovely way to wrap things up and say goodbye.
Indica and Jeewan have always made it a priority to build strong, friendly relationships with their customers. While working with Hastings District Council, Indica and Jeewan would often receive sweet treats like cakes and cupcakes from the team as a way of saying thanks.
