Maulik Patel says being a CrestClean business owner has given him a lot more freedom.
He loves the flexibility of choosing the hours he works, which fits in well with his main job as manager of a family convenience store in Auckland. “It’s a great feeling of being your own boss and I’m really happy,” he says.
“The job itself is not too hard if you are organised and learn how to work smart.”
Expanding his business is very much on the cards for Maulik, who recently travelled to India to get married. When his new bride arrives in New Zealand she will join him in the CrestClean franchise.
“She thinks it’s a good business and she’s very happy and looking forward to joining me,” he says.
“After my wife is here we will definitely grow the business and increase the turnover. The next goal will be to buy our own house.”
CrestClean business owners undergo a comprehensive training programme, leading to the Certificate in Commercial Training from Master Cleaners Training Institute. Upskilling courses are popular so a wider range of services can be offered to customers.
Maulik is now a fully qualified hard floor care expert. “It makes me feel proud and I really like the way CrestClean operates,” he says. “We get great training and good support from our regional manager.”
Caroline Wedding, CrestClean’s Auckland West Regional Manager, says seeing franchisees expand their business is satisfying.
“It’s great when people invest in their future and set themselves achievable goals like being able to buy a home of their own.”
