Business owners Shivraj Gill and his wife Rachel are highly regarded by their Auckland customers they clean for.
It means that whenever they take a well-deserved break questions are soon asked as to how long they will be away.
Viky Narayan, CrestClean’s Auckland South Regional Manager says the popular couple do a great job and have gained a great reputation for the quality of their work.
Despite other CrestClean personnel filling in for the couple, they are missed by their customers during holiday times. It shows that establishing good relationships is key to running a successful business, says Viky.
“Their customers really miss them when they go away on holiday and keep asking me ‘when are they coming back’,” says Viky.
He says Shivraj and Rachel’s five years with CrestClean has been rewarding. They received a Certificate of Long Service to mark their achievement.
“They are an amazing team and have some great customers and have worked hard to build up their business.”
Rachel says they decided to buy a CrestClean franchise to help achieve their goal to buy a home of their own. “When we had our kids we needed some extra money to save for a house, so we looked at buying a business.”
The flexibility of owning a franchise meant Rachel could keep her day job working as a medical laboratory technician. She helps her husband in the evenings with their franchise and it gives him time during the day for the school run.
“It works well for us as Shivraj works in the evening and he can pick up or drop off the kids in the daytime and I can still work full time,” she says.
They get a lot of job satisfaction from their work. “We have some really nice customers that we have had for a long time.
“When you look back at the work you’ve done at the end of the evening it gives you a satisfying feeling that you’ve done a good job.”
She says they are proud of their long service award. “It’s on the wall in the study at our home.”
