After 10 years with CrestClean she’s adept at wearing a multitude of different hats as the company’s marketing and events co-ordinator.
Nikki Wallis says the fact that no two days are ever quite the same makes the job interesting and rewarding. Whether it’s proof-reading promotional brochures, or overseeing the day-to-day operation of the CrestClean’s distribution centre in Tauranga, Nikki has a sharp eye for detail and loves being involved at every level.
In her wide-ranging role, Nikki works closely with the company’s 625 franchises throughout the country.
A career highlight was spearheading the development and design of track pants, which have become a popular addition to franchisees’ uniform.
“People came to me asking for lightweight pants that would be more comfortable than the heavier cargo pants we issue,” she says.
“We went to a number of suppliers and ran trials with different garments involving local franchisees.
“It was satisfying to eventually see the new pants arrive and knowing you’ve helped to make a significant difference to people’s working lives.”
A big part of Nikki’s responsibility is overseeing sponsorship of regional principal association conferences. The company has been a long supporter of schools throughout New Zealand.
Co-ordinating CrestClean’s presence at the New Zealand Principals’ Federation conference, the biggest gathering of school leaders in the country, is not without its challenges, says Nikki.
“It can take up to six months to organise from start to finish. There’s a lot of effort put in to getting new banners designed and made.
“But on the day it’s exciting when you see that everything has arrived and our stand is looking great.”
Nikki is planning a holiday with the $2,500 bonus she received from CrestClean to mark her 10 years’ service. The trip to Rarotonga will be a double celebration for Nikki, who this month is also marking her 30th wedding anniversary.
