The high standard of vehicles presented for an official audit of fleet vehicles in Tauranga has been praised by CrestClean’s General Manager Franchise Services.
Sam Lewis says it was another example of the owner-operators being proud of how they run their businesses. “It’s great to see franchisees taking a real pride in their vehicles and equipment. I believe this is what sets us apart from our competitors.”
CrestClean’s twice-yearly audit of franchisees’ vehicles is held throughout the country. Vehicles must meet compliance guidelines as part of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. It’s a thorough process.
More than 50 CrestClean franchisees’ vehicles, including cleaning materials, were checked over during the audit in Tauranga. Equipment was also examined to ensure it is clean and correctly stored and compliant.
All the vehicles passed the rigorous checks. “I was very pleased with how the day went,” says Sam. “They were only a few very wee hiccups that were rectified immediately.
“Our franchisees know the expectations we have. This high standard translates right through the operation. From the way our teams present themselves, their vehicles and equipment to the quality of their work. It is a big point of difference from many other companies in the cleaning industry.”
But as well as a scrutiny of vehicles and equipment, the audit was an occasion to catch up with franchisees, says Sam. “What’s becoming apparent is more of our franchisees are becoming full-time business operators who are finding success with CrestClean, which is testament to the success of franchise model.”
The CrestClean vehicle fleet was also changing, he says. “People are buying larger vehicles so they have the room to grow their business. There’s a lot more machinery being bought, which calls for bigger vehicles.
“More of our business owners are now offering a wider range of services to their customers, such as hard floor care and Pure Water window cleaning.
“We like to ensure our franchisees have all their equipment to hand, so a large vehicle is preferable. It means better outcomes for customers as we can provide a broad range of cleaning services delivered quickly and efficiently.”
For new franchisee Tan Kao, who began with CrestClean just two months ago, it was her first vehicle audit. “It’s good to have these audits to ensure you’re on track with your business,” she says. “I think it’s important that CrestClean maintains the high standards.”
