After nearly two decades of successfully managing a CrestClean Master Franchise, South Auckland’s Viky Narayan has achieved a new milestone: an MBA (Master of Business Administration). This achievement is a significant step in his ongoing journey to grow as a business leader and mentor within the franchise industry.
Viky has helmed one of CrestClean’s most successful Master Franchises for 19 years, overseeing a dynamic team of franchisees and ensuring excellence in service delivery. His long-standing success builds on his earlier career in accounting for blue-chip companies, where he gained invaluable experience in financial management, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
“The MBA was a personal and professional goal I set to expand my leadership capabilities,” says Viky.
“While my experience with CrestClean and my accounting background gave me a solid foundation, I wanted to challenge myself and gain fresh insights into leadership, innovation, and growth strategies.”
The MBA programme gave Viky an in-depth education in business strategy, organisational behaviour, and modern management practices. Among the most rewarding aspects were collaborating with peers from diverse industries and exploring cutting-edge trends that he could apply to his business.
“Running a franchise is more than operations – it’s about leadership, creating value, and empowering others to succeed. The MBA taught me how to approach these aspects more strategically and innovatively,” says Viky.
As a Master Franchisee, Viky has consistently driven growth, supported franchisees in achieving their goals, and upheld a high standard of quality and professionalism. Earning an MBA has enriched his approach and brought new ideas for improving operations, enhancing customer relationships, and mentoring franchisees more effectively.
Reflecting on the journey, Viky credits both his accounting roots and experience with CrestClean as pivotal in shaping his career.
“My time as an accountant taught me the importance of precision and analysis, while CrestClean showed me the power of relationships and leadership in business,” he says.
“The MBA ties it all together, giving me a new lens through which to view growth opportunities.”
Looking ahead, Viky is focused on applying knowledge to scale franchise operations and mentor the next generation of business owners within the CrestClean network. He also hopes to inspire others to embrace lifelong learning and take bold steps toward personal and professional development.
“The MBA wasn’t just about earning a degree – it was about challenging myself to grow and make a greater impact,” he says.
“I’m excited to bring this new perspective to everything I do.”
With his proven track record of success and new qualification, Viky is well-positioned to lead his business into a new era of growth and innovation.
