Wellington Regional Master Franchisee Adrian Cashmore invited the region’s franchise owners to a special morning tea for ‘Thank Your Cleaner Day’ to show his appreciation for their hard work.
The event was a relaxed opportunity for franchisees to connect and share experiences. Franchise owner Philomena Nziramasanga says the morning tea was a fun way to meet others and discuss how the year had gone.
Some franchisees shared how they had hired employees from their home countries this year, which inspired Philomena to look at employing staff of her own.
“After speaking to other franchisees, I felt inspired and thought it was high time I took on employees too,” she says.
She has since hired an employee from Vietnam and supported her by enrolling her in an English class to help her feel more confident holding conversations in the new language.
“My passion for my business is to mostly employ people from overseas, particularly those with refugee backgrounds,” says Philomena.
While the region’s franchisees were together, Philomena noticed that Asad Siddiqui hadn’t received his seven-year Long Service Award, so she decided to present it to him right then and there. Asad had trained Philomena for three weeks when she first started her franchise, and she eventually became a trainer herself. With their personal connection, Philomena was thrilled to be the one to hand him his award. Asad is now off on a well-deserved holiday, visiting family in India.
“He loves his job,” says Philomena. “Since starting his franchise, he says he’s never looked back. He’s such a nice guy and always willing to help.”
Although Adrian only joined CrestClean as Wellington’s Regional Master Franchisee in April, he has worked hard to build strong relationships with all the franchisees in the region. He says it was great to see so many franchisees come together for the morning.
“It was a light and cheerful morning and a chance to thank our amazing franchisees,” he says.
“I appreciate all of their efforts.”
Philomena says Adrian’s transition into the role has been incredibly smooth, and she’s grateful for his round-the-clock support.
“He’s very supportive. He even answers phone calls at night,” she laughs.
“We’re very happy. We’ve never been happier than we are right now.”
