Having the most up to date information on COVID-19 is proving invaluable for Liezl Foxcroft as she delivers online training seminars to CrestClean teams around the country.
With a stronger focus on cleaning and sanitising set to become the new normal, Liezl signed up for an intensive series of training seminars with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council.
The in-depth course has a strong emphasis on SARS-Cov-2/COVID-19 and includes modules on the importance of proper cleaning and disinfection procedures for health. Also covered are the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for front line personnel.
It means Liezl, General Manager Training for Master Cleaners Training Institute, can be confident that CrestClean personnel are adhering to international protocols around COVID-19.
“This training was quite intensive but extremely comprehensive. It went from what is the virus, to how do people catch it, how it is passed on and how do you kill it,” she says.
“It’s a good feeling to have completed this course. This now gives me the certification to officially carry out this training to our people around the country.”
Liezl has been using Zoom to connect with CrestClean teams to upskill them in the correct techniques when carrying out pandemic cleans. A number of CrestClean personnel have been deployed to carry out daily sanitising procedures at COVID-19 test stations around New Zealand.
“It’s not just about the cleaning, they know how to do that, it’s about keeping our people safe while they are doing this specialist cleaning,” she says.
