Pride shone bright when CrestClean franchisees received official recognition for passing their industry training examinations.
Receiving the Master Cleaners Training Institute Certificate in Commercial Cleaning brought intense personal satisfaction for Esther Venkataiya and her brother John Kumar.
The Christchurch duo, who are also induction trainers for new franchisees, run a successful cleaning business and were delighted to receive their awards from Kiri James, CrestClean’s Christchurch South Regional Manager.
“It was really nice to receive the certificate. This is my first big achievement and it’s the same for John as well,” says Esther.
CrestClean’s training and upskilling courses aim to raise industry standards by equipping personnel with skills, knowledge and industry-relevant qualifications.
Esther has been commended for her hard work by Adam Hodge, CEO of the Master Cleaners Training Institute.
She is the only person in the country who has so far scored 100 per cent in the Health and Safety section of the Module 2 assessment examination.
“It’s really a remarkable achievement,” said Adam. “She got 100 per cent and she is the only candidate who has done this.
“Esther cares and she works hard and studies hard. It was a reward for hard work and commitment.”
Esther said the upskilling provided by CrestClean was invaluable and made a big difference to the day-to-day operation of her cleaning business.
“I really liked the Module 2 training. It was very detailed and we got a lot of tips on how to do things better.
“One of the best things I learned was how to use and maintain a pulse mop. We used to use a wet mop before. We had it in our kit but we’d not really used it before. Now it saves time when we are cleaning floors.”
Receiving a certificate was a career highlight for John. “I’m pretty proud of myself,” he said.
He enjoys the freedom he gets from being a small business owner. “I really enjoy the work and it also gives me a lot of free time,” he says.
His certificate of achievement from the Master Cleaners Training Institute will go on the wall of his lounge.
Also receiving a certificate was Christchurch franchisee Jivan Ranabhat. Jivan, who runs his business with his wife Sita Gelal, said he particularly enjoyed the Health and Safety component of his training.
“I felt really good to receive my certificate. I’m very happy. It will go on the wall in the bedroom.”
Kiri James, CrestClean’s Christchurch South Regional Manager, was proud of her teams’ successes.
“John was very proud of his certificate. He told me that this is only the third certificate he has received in his whole life.
“He was super excited to receive this and loves taking part in any Crest training. He will hang this on his wall with pride.”
