Knowing their work is helping to keep medical staff safe means a lot to CrestClean’s Akshay and Naina Kumar.
The couple have been cleaning and sanitising Whakatane’s War Memorial Hall where a COVID-19 testing centre has been operating.
With an initial requirement of up to four visits a day from cleaning teams, the couple have shared the work with fellow CrestClean business owners Braydon and Sarah Haughey.
“We feel very proud and happy to carry out this work,” says Akshay. “It’s important to us that people coming into the hall can feel safe and that everything has been thoroughly cleaned.
“We’ve had some really nice comments from the medical staff. When they thank you for doing a good job and for keeping them safe it really makes you feel good.”
Claire Douglas, CrestClean’s Rotorua Regional Manager, says she was pleased to have been able to provide teams for this important work.
“We were asked to clean at the Whakatane War Memorial Hall as the hospital cleaners were not able to provide this additional work.
“We’ve been delighted to provide this service. Our teams are highly trained and they are specialists in this type of work.”
