A CrestClean team faced a race against the clock to ensure a landmark New Zealand company’s new extension was spotless for the building’s handover.
The contract to build a new cafe and upmarket accommodation for Barkers of Geraldine went to Shore Construction. But before the finished renovation could be officially handed over it required a massive clean.
Robert Glenie, CrestClean’s South Canterbury Regional Manager, says the building firm knew CrestClean has the experience to carry out the final clean to a high level of satisfaction.
“Builders’ cleans take a specialised type of cleaning to be able to achieve a quality result.”
But cleaning up dirt and grime from the construction process was not the only thing CrestClean personnel involved in the work had to consider, says Robert.
“Not only are you cleaning but you are working around contractors organising a lot of detailing and working with customer expectations and pressures.
“The cleaning company is normally the last in before businesses open to the public for the first time so there is always a lot of pressure on us to achieve the best result for the customer, who can often be stressed and under tight time pressure.”
The plush new accommodation is the old church vicarage, which has been completely renovated into self-contained rooms. Behind the vicarage Barkers has opened a new cafe and shop to sell its products.
Carrying out the clean were CrestClean personnel Randeep and Sukhmander Singh and Kiran Kaur.
“Randeep and Kiran are very good at this type of skilled work and are good working with contactors and customers to make their grand opening go as smooth as possible.”
